The Saginaw County Jail is located in Saginaw, Michigan. The county jail is managed by the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department and the Commander in Chief for the county jail. However, other deputies and sheriffs help in the county jail too.

Sending a Mail/Care Package
The Saginaw County Jail has a contract with Smart Jail Mail. Smart Jail Mail uses kiosks that are in the housing units for inmates to use. This method is essentially emailing their loved ones. This system was put into place to allow the Saginaw County Jail to ensure the safety of inmates, staff, and their families.
Inmates are no longer allowed to use pen and paper to write out their letters. All letters will now have to go through Smart Jail Mail.
However, if you do not have access to a computer and the only way you can communicate with an inmate is through the postal mail, you can send them mail at the following address:

Keep in mind, that this letter will go through the kiosk for them to view. They will not actually get your letter with your handwriting. Make sure you put your return address on the envelope along with the inmate’s name and their ID number to ensure it will get sent to the correct inmate.
Sending Money
The Saginaw County Jail offers family and friends four different ways they can fund their inmates accounts.
Online
You can deposit funds online at Access Corrections. This service does incur a fee to use, but it instantly deposits funds into inmate’s account 24/7.
By Phone
If you do not have access to a computer, you can also deposit money by calling 866-394-0490 between Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. This service also incurs a fee to use.
In Person

There will be kiosks in the lobbies of each jail. With these kiosks, you can use debit, credit, or cash to fund the accounts. There is also a fee that incurs with using this service.

Please keep in mind, that this method is not as fast as the 3 other methods, but it is completely free to do.
Visitation
Visitation schedule is on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Visitation is not available on Thanksgiving or Christmas.
All adults must have their government ID present. Minors must be accompanied by their legal guardians, or a person over the age of 18 that has a copy of the minor’s birth certificate. You can get the birth certificate at the Department of Vital Statistics.
Visitors must also follow the jail dress code. If you fail to comply with any of the guidelines for visitation, you will be rejected for visitation rights.
How Often Can I Visit?
Inmates can have two 1-hour visits a week from family and friends.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
